No. This is a different type of route. It is not a passive property investment program. It is an active, profile-driven pathway linked to innovation, business creation, or highly qualified professional activity in Portugal.
Typically, residency approval is completed within 3 months which includes document preparation followed by entering Portugal and meeting directly with AIMA. Residency permit is then issued within 3-6 months.
Eligible family members may include a spouse or qualifying partner, dependent children, and certain qualifying ascendants, subject to documentary proof of relationship, dependence, accommodation, and means of support under Portuguese family reunification rules.
Yes. This is a residence-based pathway, not a no-presence citizenship program. Applicants should be prepared to maintain compliant residence in Portugal and meet renewal requirements if they want to preserve the route to permanent residence or citizenship.
Typical requirements include a valid passport, criminal record certificates, proof of funds, proof of qualifications or specialization, project or contract documentation, accommodation evidence, insurance, and supporting civil-status documents for dependents where applicable.
Permanent residence generally becomes available after at least 5 years of legal residence, subject to compliance and proof of basic Portuguese. Portuguese nationality may also become available after 10 years of legal residence, subject to nationality rules in force at the time of application.
